Day Stay Appointments

So you have to get the kids to school daily, you’ve got meetings all week, lunch with an old friend, and kids need to be on time for their skating and hockey practices this week. You wake up in the morning and realize that the cat/dog needs their vaccines this week or you don’t feel the pet is just it’s self this past few days.

Weeks/days like these are why we’re introducing Day Stay Appointments. Day Stay Appointments are available Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 3:30 pm and 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays, so your pet can see a veterinarian, even when you’re too busy for an appointment.

Note: Due to COVID-19, we are currently not offering Saturday hours until further notice.

So, how does it work?

• Call to book your Day Stay Appointment at which point we will ask what your basic concerns or needs are in regards to your pet ( Vaccinations, not feeling the best etc..).
• Bring your pet in. Allow 10 – 15 minutes to review the problem with one of our team members.
• Leave a deposit, and your phone number. You MUST BE REACHABLE BY PHONE throughout the day, as treatment will not proceed without your authorization.
  Deposits may include pre-determined diagnostics based on the symptoms of the pet.
• Your pet will be examined by a veterinarian and you will be contacted with more information or the recommended patient care plan. Treatments or diagnostic tests that were not discussed prior to the check-in (and the associated costs) will be discussed with you by phone, and a plan made as to when the pet can be discharged from the hospital.

The fine print:-

You will be asked to leave a deposit dependent on the needs of the pet (if problem or need is predetermined). You will be asked to sign a Patient Care Plan so that we may treat your pet later in the day.

We will not proceed with any treatment or diagnostic testing without final telephone authorization if not approved at time of arrival to hospital.

There is a daytime emergency fee applicable to same day sick patients dependent on room and severity of problem.

Note:

Please be aware that our policy states “pets go home same day” unless absolutely necessary for them to stay due to health reasons. In addition, there may be daytime emergency fees applicable for same-day sick patients.
